San Diego Mom Launches Kickstarter for Better Infant Toothbrush

Tooth decay is the number one chronic childhood disease in the U.S. according to the California Dental Association. Whitney Mullen, founder of Soft Chomp and Santee mom, is on a mission to decrease this statistic. This innovative company is launching, patent-pending, a new painless and fun infant and toddler toothbrush that is coupled with one of the two teething-proof children’s books to make for a better bedtime routine. This is the first product from Nuturely, a San Diego-based company founded in 2014 by Whitney who was inspired to create a new and improved toothbrush for children after too many painful nights struggling with brushing her son’s teeth.

Soft Chomp launched a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of raising $17,000 by March 27, 2015 in order to fund the first round of production. Every parent knows how much bites from a baby can hurt. This company offers the first finger-fitted toothbrush with a double-layered design - a soft, gentle silicone outer layer with a firm inner layer that protects parent’s fingers from bites during brushing. Soft Chomp’s children’s books “Izzy’s First Tooth” and “Rocky’s Big Dream” come with the matching toothbrush and are waterproof, drool-proof, and teething-proof. The books allow for reading and learning from anywhere - the sink, bathtub, or changing table. They also feature inspirational and fun stories with sweet animal characters that introduce kids to the concept of brushing in an educational, yet playful way.
