Santee Business and Multi-Family Property Recognized at City Council for Recycling Efforts

GTM Discount General Stores and Meadowbrook Mobile Home Estates of Santee received special recognition from Waste Management of San Diego at yesterday’s council meeting as part of Waste Management’s inaugural “Recycling Champion” program which recognizes businesses and multi-family complexes for their exemplary efforts in implementing recycling on their properties in the City of Santee.

“As a partner to the City of Santee, we are thrilled to recognize these customers who are doing their part to encourage recycling,” said Elmer Heap of Waste Management of San Diego. “Their actions help conserve natural resources as we work together to help the City of Santee meet State recycling goals.”

As part of the program, Waste Management drivers submit nominations from their respective routes based on several criteria including frequency of recycling and cleanliness of the container, meaning that no contaminants such as garbage is mixed in recyclables.

The awardees received a certificate of recognition on behalf of Waste Management and will receive a one-time credit on their account.
