Santee Reopens Mast Park, Woodglen Vista Park Amid Coronavirus

SANTEE, CA — Two parks in Santee reopened Friday with restrictions. All parks were previously closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With some limitations, Mast Park and Woodglen Vista Park reopened Friday. Mast Park is open from dawn to 10 p.m., while Woodglen Vista Park is open from dawn to dusk. Dog parks are open at both parks.

All other parks remain closed in Santee. However, all trails and walking paths remain open, according to the city.

San Diego County officials announced Thursday that parks could reopen across the region, but individual cities would decide which park to open and when.

Cities must post social-distancing protocols near the entrances to parks, according to the county's updated public health order. Parking lots could reopen at 50 percent capacity. Additionally, members of the same household can now participate in active sports activities such as baseball or soccer.

Residents must still follow social distancing guidelines, and as of Friday, wear a face cover, according to the county's public health order.

Cities that fail to enforce social-distancing and facial-covering protocols could see parks forcibly closed again by the county.
