A vacancy on the Santee City Council was created when Councilman John Minto was elected mayor in November.

SANTEE, CA – The Santee City Council is currently seeking applicants to fill a vacancy that was created when Councilman John Minto was elected mayor in November.

Rather than call a costly special election, the council on Jan. 11 agreed to solicit applications from local residents interested in the appointed seat.

Applications for the position are available on the city’s website and at the City Clerk’s office. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Jan. 23.

Council members are expected to interview qualified applicants for the position, which has a two-year-term, during the Jan. 25 council meeting.
