Santee Street Fair Expects to Draw 60,000 People

The Santee Chamber of Commerce is planning to host more than 60,000 people over two days at its sixth annual Santee Street Fair from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 1. More than 300 food and vendor booths, carnival rides and two stages with live music and entertainment will be located at the corner of Riverview Parkway and Town Center Parkway.

In previous years, the Street Fair was considered East County’s largest one-day event. This year, a second day was added, along with a craft beer festival. Pat Chambers, event chairman, said the craft beer festival will feature samples from 40 taps from regional brewers on Saturday and brews from five local breweries on Sunday. The local breweries include Twisted Manzanita Ales & Spirits, BNS Brewing & Distilling Co., Butcher’s Brewing, Pacific Islander Brewing Co., and Oggi’s Pizza and Brewing Co.

Saturday’s bands will include Open Arms, Creedenced, Betamaxx and Staump School of Music. Sunday’s bands will include Bobby & the Angels, The Silverados, 4 Lads from Liverpool and Staump School of Music.
