Santee to Survey Community About Park and Recreation Master Plan Update

Certain households will be randomly chosen and will receive an invitation by mail. The city encourages all other to also participate.

SANTEE, CA β€” The city of Santee announced Monday that it is conducting a Park and Recreation Master Plan Update and wants to hear from residents, business owners, special interest groups and any other interested parties.

Certain households will be randomly chosen across the community with an invitation by mail to participate in an online survey on or about Sept. 26. All other residents are invited to participate in the survey, which will be available starting Oct. 10 at Santeeparkssurvey.org/open. Everyone is encouraged to participate, according to a city news release.

The Park and Recreation Master Plan Update will look at existing recreational facilities, programs and services, and determine the current and future level of services for the community based on public input, according to the news release. The plan will prioritize the needs and desires for upgrading or improving facilities and services, city officials said.

"The results of this survey will be utilized to determine the priorities of recreational facilities and activities desired by residents, what funding sources may be available, identify potential partnerships and how best to support the recreational needs of the community," city officials said in the news release.

The city has hired GreenPlay, LLC, to oversee the plan.
