SDGE Employee Injured While Working in El Cajon

EL CAJON, CA — A San Diego Gas & Electric employee was injured Monday when the elevated platform he was working on apparently made contact with a power line.

The accident occurred alongside Shady Lane in El Cajon in the late morning, according to city officials and the utility company.

SDG&E spokeswoman Amber Albrecht said she could provide no information on the nature of the injury or the worker's condition.

In a prepared statement, officials with the power company said they were "saddened to report that one of our employees has been injured and transported to the hospital."

"There is no higher priority than the safety of our employees and community, and we will fully investigate this incident," the statement says.
