SDSU Lean Enterprise Info Session set for August 20

SDSU's College of Extended Studies will host a free Lean Enterprise information session from 9-10:30 am on Thursday, August 20.

SDSU’s College of Extended Studies will host a free Lean Enterprise information session from 9-10:30 am on Thursday, August 20 in the SDSU Extended Studies Center, room 201, for a program that teaches strategy for achieving significant improvement in performance through the elimination of waste in the total business process.

SDSU’s popular Lean Enterprise program will introduce you to the Lean strategy with learning tools that include simulations, exercises, lectures, assignments, and a capstone project. The course includes company tours to see Lean in action. In just 12 weeks, you’ll gain practical knowledge that can be immediately applied, whether you work in service or manufacturing processes.

“The SDSU program afforded me the opportunity to realize that Lean is much more about developing and sustaining a Lean culture rather than selectively using a set of tools,” said Kris Manning, vice president, Clark Construction Group. “This program caused me (and my co-workers) to realize that being efficient in a process that doesn’t add value is simply waste and often prohibits the flow of work – either in the office or on a job site.”

“The Lean program far surpassed my expectations,” said Michael Mock, team manager,
Kaiser Permanente Medicare Operations. “The facilitators were very attentive, enthusiastic and genuinely interested in the success of every student. They were very accessible and went out of their way to ensure we understood Lean concepts and were using them in our projects. Upon completion of the course, I had confidence in my knowledge and felt comfortable leading teams in projects. I highly recommend this program.”
