SDSU Offers Marketing and Digital Media Classes
SDSU will offer two classes in its Professional Certificate in Marketing and Digital Media program during March.
SDSU’s College of Extended Studies will offer two classes in its Professional Certificate in Marketing and Digital Media program during March.
“Media Sales and Promotion” will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Mondays, March 2 to 30. Students will study the building blocks to media sales such as research, promotion, and other collateral areas. They will learn about the current and future state of the industry through lectures and panel discussions with practicing professionals. Key topics include the fundamental components of sales, the keys to successful sales, understanding what the client wants and needs, and where the industry is going. Instructor Charles Dunning is vice president and general manager of television station San Diego6 The CW.
The second class, “Understanding Social Media,” will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, March 5 to 26. This class is an introduction to web-based social media tools. Students will get a broad overview of applications such as Google+, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest as tools for professionals. The class also will explore managing online applications, creating your online voice, engagement, and web branding. Instructor Yadira Galindo is a communications manager at UCSD Moores Cancer Center.
