In Spring, You Can Learn to Teach English Overseas
SDSU is offering two sessions for a program that teaches you how to earn money teaching English abroad.
San Diego State University is offering two separate sessions in the upcoming spring semester for a program that teaches you how to earn money teaching English abroad.
The popular 130-hour Teaching English as a Second Language/Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate program that prepares novice instructors to live and teach English overseas is scheduled for weekdays from 8 am-4:30 pm Jan. 20 to Feb. 13, or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 3 to April 23.
“This program provides the training and guidance to succeed working abroad. I highly recommend it to anyone who is considering teaching overseas,” said Pablo Serrano, who worked for the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education in a Korean public middle school.

“Before I took the TESL/TEFL Certificate program, I was totally afraid to speak in front of a group of people. It became my vehicle to change my life,” said former student Alicia Wszelaki, who completed the program and then traveled the globe teaching English.
These sessions are offered through the American Language Institute, a division of SDSU’s College of Extended Studies. Cost of the program is $2,725.

More than 200 graduates of the program have been employed in 38 countries with the help of the ALI’s job placement assistance program, which combines a solid teaching foundation with hands-on practical classroom experience.
