My name is Tina & I'm a 42 old Santee resident born & raised, I created East County Emergency Updates Facebook page two & a half years ago & thanks to the overwhelming support of the community & our Followers, ECEU has grown from a hobby to literally a 24/7 job.

ECEU is a resource for East County & other surrounding areas, with the main goal being to look out for the safety & well being of those in our communities & neighboring residents. Whether that being information regarding an "emergency" or non-emergency posts pertaining to activities, events & daily occurrences within our community that may affect you, your loved ones & friends.

Though you may not live in a beautiful East County neighborhood as many of our 37,500+ Followers do not, some may have moved but want to continue to stay connected, or they may have loved ones still in the area or possibly may travel into the East County for work, school & etc.

Have you ever wondered....why a helicopter circling over my house & what's it saying? Do I smell smoke? What happened to the power? Why are police officers at my child's school? Need accident information? I myself have on many occasions....along with family, friends & Facebook friends who would contact me asking if I knew what was going on? They all know I monitor the local police/fire scanner & thus ECEU was born!!

ECEU is for residents of Alpine, Campo, El Cajon, Flinn Springs, Jamul, Lakeside, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Pine Valley, Poway, Ramona, Rancho San Diego, Santee, Spring Valley & other surrounding East County communities including those in our beautiful back country who want to stay up-to-date on information including & not limited to:

● Thefts/Stolen Property
● Neighborhood Watch

● Suspicious Person(s) & Activity
● Road, Traffic & Weather Hazards & Advisories

We aren't just for emergencies!! Every incident &/or emergency situation may not be posted to East County Updates.

Information posted to ECEU comes from various resources including....Police & fire scanners, Broadcastify.com, Incidentpage.net, Pulse Point, CHP incident page, other law enforcement websites & resources, Nixle.com, local media outlets, San Diego News Video, eye witness accounts, other social media sites, SDG&E, Caltrans, NWS & especially YOU the Followers.

The initial information posted can change quickly & ECEU does its best to update when new information comes available.

Please remember I am a VOLUNTEER....it's just me, I am ECEU so your patience is greatly appreciated. While following an incident or post & to ensure you receive the most current & accurate updates, please remember to "REFRESH" your page frequently.

Everybody has an opinion & the right to express it, though ECEU does not condone the use of profanity of any kind, name calling, rude, disrespectful, negative & derogatory comments directed to myself or others at any time. Negative comments towards city officials, law enforcement, fire fighters & other professional personnel will not be tolerated. If these guidelines are not followed, your comment will be deleted. If it continues & though I value each one of my Followers, those will be deleted & permanently banned from ECEU IMMEDIATELY!!!!
