Worker Helps Nab Fumigation Burglar
The 24-year-old suspect was arrested after a pest-control worker chased him away from the tented Lakeside home.

LAKESIDE, CA: A young man who allegedly sneaked into an East County home tented for fumigation was arrested Friday on suspicion of burglary.
A pest-control worker arriving to remove the protective shroud from the house in the 9500 block of Farmington Drive in Lakeside about 9:30 a.m. spotted the intruder, who immediately ran off, according to sheriff's officials.
The fumigation technician made a 911 call, jumped into his truck and gave chase, Sgt. Mike McNeill said.

Deputies caught up with the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Jason Shane Depew, at the nearby intersection of Lemon Crest and Orange Crest drives and took him into custody.
Depew was booked into San Diego Central Jail. He was being held on $25,00 bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

It was unclear if anything was stolen from inside the tented home.
