3 Cited For Trespassing at Saratoga Sanborn Park's Summit Rock

Santa Clara residents charged with misdemeanors after being found in a restricted area of rock climbing sector.

Three Santa Clara residents were booked with misdemeanor trespassing by sheriff's deputies in February after they were accused of entering a closed area of Saratoga-Los Gatos' Sanborn Park, in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

According to sheriff's reports, the three individuals violated a Santa Clara County ordinance that says any unauthorized person who willfully and knowingly enters an area closed, prohibited or limited, or willfully remains within such area after receiving notice to evacuate or leave, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

Jacob Norsworthy, 22; Jamie Delozier, 20; and Daniel Eagle, 23, were each cited with entering the Summit Rock area of Sanborn Park in May of 2012, according to sheriff's reports.

Norsworthy was also charged with misdemeanor having an open alcoholic beverage container in the area, which is prohibited.

Sanborn Park is owned and managed by the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department. The park, originally named Sanborn-Skyline County Park, is also known as Sanborn Skyline Park or Sanborn County Park, according to Wikipedia.

The park is said to be between Saratoga and the ridgetop road, Skyline Boulevard. However, sheriff's reports say the trespassers were in Los Gatos.
