Resource Area for Teaching Sponsors Gift of Reading Book Drive
Nonprofit education organization encourages donation of books at designated area drop-off locations.

New books ignite joy!
Sometimes, however, new books can be hard to come by, so a local nonprofit, Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT), sponsors an annual holiday book drive Nov. 17 through Sunday, Dec. 16 to collect new and like-new children’s books, bringing the magic of books to Santa Clara County children who need it most.
Several of Santa Clara County Library District libraries are drop-off locations where book donations can be placed in Gift of Reading collection barrels: Milpitas, Los Altos, Morgan Hill, and Library Administration offices in Los Gatos.

The donated books will go to underserved children, and to help teachers build classroom libraries for the children they teach—increasing the students' chances at long-term academic success. These books may be the only holiday gift a child will receive.
Share the magic of books with children in need! The Gift of Reading Children’s Book Drive continues through Sunday, Dec. 16.
