Small Nitrogen Leak At Apple-Owned Building Capped

Those inside the Cupertino site were evacuated.

A small nitrogen leak was quickly capped at an office building owned by Apple Inc. in Cupertino early this morning, a Santa Clara County fire spokesman said.

Firefighters responded to a report of a small hazardous materials leak around 6:45 a.m. in the 10400 block of Bandley Drive, across the street from the main Apple campus, fire spokesman Bill Murphy said.

Everyone inside the one-story building had evacuated when firefighters arrived, Murphy said.

The leak came from a piece of manufacturing equipment and was quickly capped, according to Murphy.

There was no threat to anyone and the building was ventilated before occupants were allowed back inside, he said. No injuries were reported.
