Saratoga Union School District expresses appreciation to longtime trustee with reception, special recognition Tuesday evening.

The Saratoga Union School District celebrated retiring trustee Cindy Ruby at a reception held Dec.  4.

During her 20 years on the board, Ruby was "an inspiration to our district families, staff and students. We are grateful for her care, wisdom, and stewardship of our school district," the district said on its website.

Ruby played instrumental roles in the bond measures to help rebuild aging school buildings, development of the new curriculum and student support structure for our middle school students, and passage of the Measure B parcel tax, the district added.
