15 Year Old Shot Dead In Watsonville

WATSONVILLE, CA - A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot in Watsonville Wednesday evening, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Lawrence Avenue and Magnolia Drive at 6:22 p.m. on reports of shots fired.

They found the victim, later identified as a Watsonville resident, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

A dark-colored sedan may have left the area at a high rate of speed, and detectives are asking anyone in the area of Lawrence Avenue, Magnolia Drive or South Green Valley Road if they may have seen it. The case remains under investigation, but detectives say it appears to have gang overtones.
