• Trash Service Now Required Countywide, With Fines Starting Nov. 1 (slvpost.com) — If you live just outside Scotts Valley's city limits, you now must either sign up for GreenWaste curbside pickup or register as a self-hauler by Nov. 1 or face escalating fines. The new enforcement push, tied to California's organics recycling law, targets all developed properties in unincorporated Santa Cruz County and aims to cut illegal dumping and climate-warming landfill waste.
