Scotts Valley Man Arrested, Suspected Of Possessing Child Porn

Law enforcement officials on Tuesday arrested a Scotts Valley man for allegedly sharing child pornography online.

SCOTTS VALLEY - Law enforcement officials on Tuesday arrested a Scotts Valley man for allegedly sharing child pornography online.

John Brookhouse, 66, was arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography.

At about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, members of the Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz police departments and the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant and arrested Brookhouse at his mobile home in the 6000 block of Scotts Valley Drive.

Investigators said Brookhouse was identified as a source of child pornography files shared on a peer-to-peer network.

Detectives seized a number of computers and external drives that were allegedly used to download and provide child pornography on the network.

Brookhouse confessed to both downloading child pornography and making files available for sharing on the network, investigators said.

Brookhouse has a prior 1991 conviction for possession of child pornography in the state of Florida, investigators said.
