Sheriff’s Sergeant Crashes Boy’s Birthday Party
This Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office Sergeant made a fan for life.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Ben Lomond boy recently celebrated his eighth birthday with an unexpected but welcome party crasher. Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Yanez stopped by the little boy's house to celebrate. Officials said Yanez was on patrol looking for suspicious activity and was investigating loud noise coming from a Ben Lomond yard.
Yanez went into the yard and discovered William, 8, and a group of friends engaged in a Nerf war. Yanez, while a bit taller than the rest of the partygoers, fit right in with the guests. The birthday boy spent some quality time checking out the patrol car before posing for photos with the local celebrity.
Sheriff’s office officials shared the touching photos on Facebook and the positive comments from residents poured in. The photos have garnered more than 531 likes since they were posted on February 3.
