U15 Valkyrie Girls Take Home Coveted Stanford Cup
Valkyrie Win in Dramatic Penalty Kick Shootout
The Scotts Valley/San Lorenzo Valley Valkyrie U15 competitive girls soccer team won 1st place in the Stanford Soccer Club Tournament held Aug 16 & 17 for the Gold level D1 competition. There were over 140 girls teams entered into the competition, which had entries from all over the state.
The Valkyrie defeated the San Francisco Football Club Elite Academy Lions in penalty kicks after regulation ended in a tie 0-0. The Valkyrie ended with three wins and didn’t allow a goal throughout the tournament. The regular fall season starts after Labor Day for the SV/SLV competitive teams.
