Council OKs contracts to buy license plate reading cameras (sunnews.org) — Seal Beach is adding more automated license plate reader cameras around town, including near the 405 and 22 freeways and at Lampson intersections, under two new three-year contracts with Flock Group. City officials say the technology has already helped locate missing persons and suspect vehicles in College Park West. Funding will come from asset forfeitures and the existing city budget.

Couple Shaped by Struggle and Driven to Give Will Receive Honorary Doctorates (cpp.edu) — A Cal Poly Pomona–bound couple being honored with honorary doctorates has deep ties to our area through Diversified Technical Systems, the engineering firm they co-founded in Seal Beach. Their multimillion-dollar philanthropy will fund scholarships, student programs, and an endowed deanship, and their story highlights how local business success is helping future teachers and engineers across the region.
