1. Sheriff's Office conducts sting targeting adults buying alcohol for minors (montereyherald.com) — Law enforcement recently ran a “shoulder tap” sting in Seaside, citing a 19-year-old Seaside resident and a store clerk on Fremont Boulevard after alcohol was allegedly bought for underage decoys. Another citation followed in Marina the same day. Officials say these operations aim to deter adults from helping minors obtain alcohol and reduce underage DUI crashes.

2. Seaside man arrested in alleged sexual assault of toddler and cat (ksbw.com) — Seaside police say a 21-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with serious alleged sexual assaults involving young children and a pet, with related charges also filed in Monterey. Investigators from both cities are pursuing additional leads, and anyone with further information is urged to contact law enforcement.

County Office of Education names Teachers and Employees of the year (montereyherald.com) — A Seaside High School biology teacher has been named Monterey County’s overall Teacher of the Year, following a countywide awards ceremony held at the Embassy Suites in Seaside. The event also honored standout educators and classified staff from districts across Monterey County, each receiving cash awards for their work supporting local students.

4. Monterey Bay FC Join Forces with Stevenson School to Broadcast Monterey Bay Sirens (oursportscentral.com) — Seaside soccer fans will soon be able to hear Monterey Bay Sirens home matches from Cardinale Stadium on student-run station KSPB 91.9 FM, thanks to a new partnership with Stevenson School. Broadcasting students will handle full game coverage, interviews, and production all season, giving Seaside listeners more access to the club while offering hands-on media experience to local youth.
