A non-injury fire burned about an acre of brush in the Lake Balboa area today before it was knocked down, authorities said.
The blaze was reported at 3:37 p.m. near the intersection of Balboa and Victory boulevards, not far from the Balboa Sports Center and Lake Balboa, Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Thirty-one firefighters attacking the flames from the ground and air took 42 minutes to knock down the fire, which burned in medium to heavy brush, Scott said.
