Screening + Director Q&A with Luca Pizzoleo: The Tragic Death of a Frenchman

Join award-winning independent filmmaker Luca Pizzoleo for a special screening of his 28-minute short film The Tragic Death of a Frenchman, followed by an intimate director conversation and audience Q&A.

In person at The Acting Center, 14801 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403, and streaming on Hey Joe Plus.

Known for bold storytelling, sharp visual style, and an instinct for creating work that connects far beyond the festival circuit, Luca has built a standout voice in independent film. His short O.C.D. earned more than 1 million YouTube views in just two weeks and went on to reach tens of millions across social media. His filmography also includes In the Valley of the Moon, a '70s-inspired crime drama that developed a cult following and sparked a viral TikTok trend.

Following the screening, Luca will break down the creative process behind The Frenchman, share insight into his approach to writing, directing, producing, and releasing independent work, and answer questions from the audience about building films that can find a life and audience beyond their initial release.
