Crossing Guard Dies At Hospital After Being Hit By Car
A crossing guard died Monday after she and student were hit by a car before school West Vanowen Street.
VAN NUYS, CA — A crossing guard who was hit by a vehicle in the Valley Glen area near Van Nuys died at a hospital, authorities said Tuesday.
Paramedics sent to the 13400 block of West Vanowen Street about 7:20 a.m. Monday took the woman to a hospital, where she died about 10 hours afterward, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Information was not immediately available on her identity.

A teenage girl was also hit by the vehicle, and was treated for injuries described as not life-threatening.
The motorist remained at the scene and was interviewed by officers.

LAPD Sgt. David Delgado told KTLA5 that the driver possibly "couldn't see very clearly because ... the sun was in his eyes."
