Ex-LAPD Detective Gets 180 Days in Jail for Assaulting 3 Female Massage Therapists in Valley

A former Los Angeles police detective who pleaded no contest to assault charges involving three women who worked at massage parlors in the San Fernando Valley was sentenced today to 180 days in county jail and three years probation.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Horwitz also ordered Oris Pace, 49, to stay away from the women.

Pace also was required to resigned from the Los Angeles Police Department as a condition of his no contest plea June 25 to three felony counts of assault by a public officer.

Pace was a supervisor in the Los Angeles Police Department’s Commission Investigative Division, responsible for enforcing business permits at sites including massage parlors, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

He was arrested Jan. 2 in connection with the charges, freed on bond and relieved of duty pending the outcome of the criminal case.

Eight other charges against Pace, including two additional counts of assault by a public officer and six felony counts of sexual battery by restraint, were dismissed as a result of the plea.
