Four Cars Destroyed in Sherman Oaks Blaze

Investigators don't believe the fire was suspicious.

Four cars were burned in the carport of a Sherman Oaks apartment complex today, but there were no injuries.

The fire was reported at 2:33 a.m. in the carport of a three-story apartment complex at 14320 Addison St., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Brian Humphrey.

Humphrey said there was some smoke damage to the building, but no other damage to the units above.

Fire crews doused the flames in about 40 minutes.

An arson investigator told NBC4 the fire appeared to have started in a roughly 13-year-old car parked in the carport, with the flames spreading to the other vehicles. The fire did not appear to be suspicious in nature, the investigator said.
