Gunman Robs Victim in Apartment Building Garage

Robbery is similar to parking-garage holdups in Northridge, Van Nuys and North Hollywood, police say.

Residents are on edge and police on alert after a man robbed a person at gunpoint in the parking garage of a Sherman Oaks apartment building.

Los Angeles police Detective Ronald Carter  of the Van Nuys Division said a gunman approached the victim inside the parking garage of a building in the 4700 block of Sepulveda Boulevard on Tuesday morning, and made off with money and jewelry.

“It's scary,” said Jack, a neighbor who declined to give his last name. “This is usually a safe neighborhood.”
