"I never said:'I want to alone';I only said, 'I want to be let alone.'There is a world of difference." Greta Garbo and that goes for me too.
When we last met up with the "widow lady", she was not sleeping well, but knew it would pass with time. ( getting better) Now the "leave me alone " stage is upon her. As we all know -the road to hell is paved with good intentions and so it with the widow lady's friends. " Why don't you join a group? " "How about taking a class?" So, as Greta Garbo said: " I want to be let alone." I know that this too shall run its course and I will again rejoin the land of the living and return from the land of the lost ( if no sleestaks get me).
Sometimes it is like watching yourself going on this journey and knowing that you , and only you, can complete it. No one can "know what you are feeling." Some things in life can not be felt or explained by anyone else, but only by the person experiencing it--and that is OK.
The "widow lady" will try to find purpose in life, regain her vitality and continue on. So, I leave you with some of my favorite lines from music and poetry: Rabbi Ben Ezra by Robert Browning: Grow old along with me!
The best is yet to be,
The last of life, for which the first was made:
Our times are in His hand
Who saith:A whole I planned,
Youth shows but half; trust God:see all, nor
be afraid!"
and from the song : "Alfie"--my favorite line:
"Without true love we just exist, Alfie."
