Man on Probation for Drug Offense Leads LAPD on a Pursuit
Two officers received minor injuries when their squad car hit a median during the chase.
A man on probation for a drug offense was arrested today after leading Los Angeles police on a vehicle chase in Van Nuys that left two officers with minor injuries when their squad car struck a median during the pursuit, authorities said.
The officers had attempted to stop the driver of a green GMC SUV that had been running red lights, Los Angeles police Sgt. Bill Kelly said.
The officers gave chase, but the squad car struck the median and blew out a tire near the intersection of Sherman Way and Firmament Ave. around 1:45 a.m., police said.

Officers set up a perimeter in the area, and the man was taken into custody about 5 a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Liliana Preciado. His name was not immediately released.
