He is an extremely versatile and dynamic singer with an amazing ability to sound like many of the legendary artists. From the tender ballads to the bellowing rockers, he truly delivers sound-a-like renditions of the classic hits. His favorite part about performing is watching everyone enjoying the music and dancing."
Tommy's backup band for the Sweetheart's Dinner Dance will be Gary Snyder on guitar, Rodney Schnitz on bass, Tom Haney on drums, and Eric Ekstrand on keyboard. Expect the music to span all genres from rock and swing to waltz and cha cha. He is committed to keeping the early years of Rock ‘n Roll alive and well in the 21st century. Tassi's words of wisdom to aspiring musicians is to "have passion in what you're doing, stick to it, and work hard."
These lauded Social Circle Events began 15 years ago. John Seemanhas been hosting them on his own for the past ten. There have been 80 dances in all. John loves “Seeing people having a good time; Seeing a man and woman meeting for the first time; seeing them both smiling and content; Seeing people greet friends they haven’t seen in a while. I’m happy in general when I feel folks are enjoying themselves.”
He also finds pleasure in welcoming guests as they arrive and seeing old and new faces. For John, “It feels like a real community of friendly, supportive people.” John looks forward to working with volunteers who have given so much of their time to providing a great experience; Dancing to some good old rock n’ roll; and doing whatever’s necessary to make sure everyone’s having a wonderful time.
“To make sure you get your money’s worth,” is John’s mission, which is why, “Everything is included: Live Band, Complete Dinner, Dessert, Wine, Beer, Soft Drinks… Plenty of free parking.” Neither John nor the many volunteers receive any money. Admission all goes to food, band, decorations, room rental, etc. He reveals, “We are completely self sufficient.”
John encourages you to “Give us a try. If you’re not happy with your experience, I will refund your money, no questions asked.” Reservations aren’t necessary. Just pay at the door. Contact John at 310-204-1240 or johnseeman@aol.com.
