Sherman Oaks Man Guilty Of Murdering Wife In Front Of Son
It took a jury just 45 minutes to convict Aurelio Teran of first-degree murder.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A Sherman Oaks may spend the rest of his days behind bars for the murder of his wife in front of their 12-year-old son.
Aurelio Teran, 40, is facing more than 29 years to life in state prison after a Van Nuys jury found him guilty of first-degree murder for the Aug. 27, 2017, slaying of his 32-year-old wife, Viridiana, according to the District Attorney's Office. It took the jury just 45 minutes to convict him.
In addition to murder, jurors also found Teran guilty of one count each of criminal threats, injuring a spouse and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime, along with finding true an allegation that Teran used a knife in the commission of the murder. Teran stabbed his wife to death in front of their little boy and then tried to flee justice, according to Deputy District Attorney Michele Pincus.

Teran fled to Ventura County, where he was arrested Aug. 28, 2017,after being struck by a car. A Ventura County sheriff's sergeant who responded to a call of a "pedestrian on the roadway" recognized Teran as the suspect being sought in his wife's stabbing death, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
He is due back in court April 30 for sentencing.
