Shots Reportedly Fired During Police Chase

The pursuit begins just before 2:30 p.m. near Ethel Avenue and Burbank Boulevard, police say.

A motorist suspected of driving under the influence led police on a pursuit Friday in Van Nuys and then apparently ran into a home, prompting a search of the neighborhood.

The pursuit began just before 2:30 p.m. near Ethel Avenue and Burbank Boulevard, Officer Luis Garcia of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

"The driver ran into a building or a home on Hatteras Street," Garcia said.

Police set up a perimeter in the area as they searched for the suspect.

The driver, who fled on foot after leading police on a vehicle pursuit, may have changed his clothes, KCAL9 reported. Shots were fired, according to KCAL but it was not immediately clear if there were any injuries.
