Utility Workers Scalded in Sherman Oaks Accident

The circumstances of an accident that sent two utility workers to the hospital with burns from a radiator coolant are under investigation.

Two utility workers were injured today, one seriously, when they were scalded by radiator coolant on a diesel pump in Sherman Oaks, authorities said.

Paramedics sent to the 3600 block of Stone Canyon Avenue at 12:46 p.m. took the men to a hospital for treatment, one in serious condition and one in fair condition, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The circumstances of the accident, which occurred inside a building, were under investigation.
