Knowing that someone is going to die in the near future, does not in any way prepare you for the actual event. We all know we are going to die- but that changes nothing in our lives.
My husband died a few months ago after many years of "dying."-but it was still too soon. Being extremely strong, I was , of course , able to go on--but something changed radically.
I tried to define what the difference was in life now that he was dead. Well, I had a lot of extra time without the frantic need to be back home to help him or take time to doctor appointments. But that wasn't it. Then one day, I was listening to Dennis Prager on the radio--and someone who had lost a child described their life now as "existing" from day to day. That was it, I was an "exister."
I must warn you that I have a very dark sense of humor as you will see in the next episode of " The Existers."
All "Existers" are welcome to comment and add their voice.
