Famed jazz supper club, Upstairs at Vitello’s, is embracing the slime and decay this March as Cherry Poppins Productions and Thrice Threat Theatre Company presents Zombie Prom, the girlloves-ghoul rock musical of nuclear proportions! The formula is simple -- every Friday night, starting March 14th, after all the kids have gone to bed, Upstairs at Vitello’s will open their doors to the Los Angeles community at no cost! Nothing. It’s free! You come in, indulge in your favorite cocktail or three, and get taken on a campy and interactive rodeo back to 1950’s America with an extra dose of the undead.
As for the plot: The year is 1950. Sweet and proper Toffee falls for class bad boy, Jonny (spelt without the customary "h"). When she's pressured to break up with him, Jonny commits suicide by hurling himself into the nuclear waste dump. But, as they say -- toxic waste can't stop true love. Toffee's undying love brings Jonny back from the dead just in time for the prom. Will this green-faced, toxic Zombie be allowed to graduate? Can Jonny and Toffee remain together despite their undead differences? And, most importantly, will the tyrannical school principal allow the students of Enrico Fermi High to have their prom?! Filled with popping musical numbers and just the right amount of camp, Zombie Prom is the late night extravaganza you'll surely DIE to see!
