Sierra Madre School at Head of the Class as 2011 API Score Goals Released

District-wide scores improved, though some schools fared worse in 2010 than 2009.

The California Department of Education released its Academic of Performance Index goals last week for schools statewide for 2011.

Listed below in the first table are the 2010 scores for Pasadena Unified schools which posted a 18 point improvement overall from last year, about in line with the average state performance growth.

That does not mean that every school in the district improved: below are breakdowns by school of test performance.  The tables shows the 2010 score, the 2009 base score, and the '2009-10 Growth' which shows the increase or decrease level in performance.

The 'Growth Target' column is an internal mark used by schools to track performance.  The three columns on the right show whether the school overall hit its goal, and whether all the demographic groups within the school hit their goal.

The second table lists goals for 2011 API scores - schools that scored over 800 do not have goals set for them except to continue to score above 800.
