Sonoma Valley Voter Guide 2026: What's On The Ballot, Voting, & More (patch.com) — Sonoma Valley voters are already receiving ballots for the Nov. 3, 2026 election, which will decide key local city council and school board seats alongside state and congressional races. Residents in Sonoma and nearby communities will also weigh in on Measures H, AB, and N, shaping funding for parks, college facilities, and fire protection that directly affect daily life in Sonoma.
2. Sonoma Developmental Center now in compliance with county fire codes after hydrant functions restored (pressdemocrat.com) — Fire hydrants at the Sonoma Developmental Center in Eldridge are now working again, bringing the property back into compliance with Sonoma County fire codes and easing wildfire safety concerns for nearby Sonoma Valley residents. New fencing, added security, and a revised environmental review are underway as the state and county reconsider a controversial redevelopment plan that could add nearly 1,000 homes, commercial space, and a hotel.
3. Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley Announces Fall 2026 Community Grants Cycle (sonomasun.com) — Nonprofits and school-related groups in Sonoma Valley can start applying on October 15 for Rotary Club community grants supporting local education and direct services. Recent funding has backed organizations like Sonoma Community Center, Sonoma Splash, and Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance, alongside hands-on projects in Sonoma Garden Park, Sonoma Creek, and local trails. Applications are due November 3 at 5 p.m.
4. Cycles 3 Finds a Home on Sonoma Plaza (sonomacity.org) — A new permanent sculpture, Cycles 3, is now installed on Sonoma Plaza near First Street East and East Napa Street, adding to the city's growing public art collection. Donated by local artist Peter Hassen, the 96-inch steel piece highlights biodiversity and returns after first appearing in a 2021 Sonoma Valley Museum of Art exhibition. Residents can visit anytime and learn more via the city's Public Art Program.
