Bishop O'Dowd Girls Knock off Sonoma Valley in Section Hoop Play

Studdert Ceja star as Lady Dragons have season ended

OAKLAND -- There was no Cinderella story on Friday night.

Top-ranked Bishop O'Dowd started fast and raced past Sonoma Valley High's girls 66-34 in the second round of the North Coast Section Division III basketball tournament.

"Maybe we can be a Cinderella," eighth-seeded Sonoma Valley's Annie Studdert said after helping lead the Lady Dragons past Hercules in the opening round in Sonoma on Tuesday.

Studdert's dream did not become reality. The star still scored 11 points as the Lady Dragons finished a sterling season.

Ellie Ceja ended with 10 points and seven rebounds for the Lady Dragons.
