For
 any student interested in using handmade paper to create sculptural 
forms with armatures, this is a class for you! Students will learn 
building methods for armatures and ways to wrap and dip their armatures 
in handmade paper prepared in a way that is called “high shrinkage.” In 
this method, paper pulp has been beaten for a long period of time to 
absorb a large amount of water, and dramatic transformations can occur 
when the form dries. All supplies are provided through the materials 
fee. La maestra habla español. Papermaking is a wet process, 
please wear clothing and shoes that can get wet. Papermaking also 
involves some lifting and arm movements. Note: There will be a one-hour lunch break each day. Please bring a bag lunch.

Celebrate the shared 150th anniversary of two extraordinary figures in early California history; Jack London and his friend Tilden Daken (1876-1935), one of the most adventurous painters in the American West. 
 
Join author Bonnie Portnoy on June 14, 2026 from noon to 3:00 p.m. for a special book signing on the 150th birthday of Tilden Daken, her grandfather, at Jack London State Historic Park in the historic House of Happy Walls.
Born in 1876—the same year as Jack London—Daken shared a spirit of adventure that carried the two men across the American West, including early days riding the rails together. Following the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, Daken settled in Glen Ellen, where his life and artistic career became deeply intertwined with the Sonoma Valley landscape—and with London’s enduring legacy.
“The Man Beneath the Paint” presents an intimate portrait of Tilden Daken as both artist and adventurer and features more than 250 illustrations of his California paintings. The book also offers vivid, little-known stories of his friendship with London in Sonoma County. It includes a foreword by Matt Leffert, Executive Director of Jack London Park Partners, and a testimonial by Armando Quintero, Director of California State Parks.
All proceeds from book sales at this event (100%) will be donated to Jack London State Historic Park, supporting the preservation of this historic site.

El Parque Histórico Estatal Jack London presenta "Rutas y Aventuras", una serie de caminatas gratuitas en español.

El sábado 20 de junio, únase a una caminata inolvidable —guiada en español— que conecta el Parque Histórico Estatal Jack London con el hermoso Parque Regional North Sonoma Mountain. La participación y la entrada al parque son totalmente gratuitas (se requiere inscripción previa).

Esta caminata exigente, de 8,5 millas (aprox. 13,7 km) de recorrido, ofrecerá las mejores vistas del valle, rodeado de secuoyas y robles. Se ofrecerán refrigerios y tentempiés para mantener al grupo con energía.

Llegue a las 8:45 a. m. para registrarse, de modo que el grupo pueda salir puntualmente a las 9:00 a. m. La caminata finalizará aproximadamente a las 2:30 p. m. Jack London State Historic Park presents Rutas y Aventuras, a series of free hikes in Spanish. 

On Saturday, June 20, join an unforgettable trek – led in Spanish - connecting Jack London State Historic Park with the beautiful North Sonoma Mountain Regional Park. Participation and park entry are completely free (registration is required). 

This challenging (difícil) 8.5 miles hike will include the best views of the valley, surrounded by redwoods and oaks. Snacks and refreshments will be provided to keep the group energized. 

Arrive at 8:45 a.m. for registration so the group can depart promptly at 9:00 a.m. The hike will end at approximately 2:30 pm. Bring plenty of water, comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for the weather and the activity. Hiking poles are recommended.

then select one composition to focus on throughout the day. Through 
demonstration and individual instruction, you’ll learn color mixing and 
watercolor technique while building your painting step by step.&nbsp; Bring
 a picnic lunch to enjoy while taking a break, and a lightweight folding
 chair if you have one. Otherwise seating is at picnic tables and park 
benches or on the ground. All other materials are provided. After
 the workshop, you’re invited to continue exploring the park—take a 
hike, visit the museum, or stroll to the evocative ruins of the Wolf

 Pride at Print Lab with Ash Hay! Learn trace monotype printmaking in 
this social art workshop. No experience needed, create art to take home.

 up your sleeves and join us for a fun Print Lab evening celebrating 
Pride Month, with special guest, Ash Hay – one of our featured June 
Causeway Gallery artists! Print Lab is not a traditional class, 
but an affordable art-making experience. Our mission is to explore a 
creative arts technique socially with our community. We welcome you to 
print, play and experiment with an activity to create something unique 
in our printmaking studio! This month we will explore a fun printmaking technique known as Trace Monotype.&nbsp; Trace
 monotypes involve drawing directly onto an inked plate and do not 
require the use of a press! The pressure of the pencil transfers the ink
 to the paper, creating a soft look to prints with unlimited options. 
Guests will learn about the variety of mark making, and explore 
expressive textures on an inky surface.&nbsp; Ash Hay will give a 
short artist talk, and teach the basics of creating trace monotypes, a 
printmaking process they enjoy using to create prints. They will share 
their process of incorporating layered prints, as well as utilizing 
mixed media. Come join us, make some monotypes to take home, and explore
 the possibilities!&nbsp; Enjoy light refreshments during this printmaking activity. No previous experience is necessary!&nbsp;
