
SONOMA COUNTY, CA -A 4-year-old boy died after being struck by an SUV Friday evening near Santa Rosa, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers were called to the scene of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian around 6:20 p.m. in the vicinity of Rodeo Lane off of Santa Rosa Avenue, in the Sonoma Garden Apartments in unincorporated Sonoma County.
The child was riding a “kick” type bicycle when he entered the roadway from behind a parked vehicle, immediately getting struck by a Lexus SUV.

The boy was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries, but around 8:45 p.m. the CHP issued a statement indicating that the boy had died. The driver has been identified only as a 29-year-old woman from Santa Rosa.
Further details were not immediately available. The case remains under investigation.
