Crazy, Almost Famous Brandon Hassur at Epicurean

Only 28 years old but on his way, singer-songwriter Brandon Hassur drops by the Connection without his Crazy Famous friends

On the heels of the Sonoma Valley Cheese Conference and the Artisan Cheese Festival in Petaluma, Sheana Davis is putting the big cheese up on stage.

He’s not a big cheese yet, but Brandon Hassur has already raised some eyebrows in the Bay Area music scene. He’s a winner of the North Bay Music Award for best singer-songwriter, which is a pretty good start to a career.

Then there was his runner-up status in this year’s Mr. Healdsburg contest, in which he lost to 74-year old Paul Downey.

Hassur is probably best known hereabouts for his work in Crazy Famous, but he’s still restless. After recent projects with Los Perros de Amor, with Dire Straits guitarist Jack Sonni, the 28-year old singer-songwriter is bringing his Telecaster to Sonoma for a Thursday night appearance at the Epicurean Connection.

It’s 7:30 – 10 p.m., free. Order some cheese and you’ll be fine.
