Missing Elderly Santa Rosa Woman Reunited With Family: Police

Breaking: The 71-year-old has Alzheimer's disease and suffers dementia, Santa Rosa police said.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- An at-risk elderly woman who went missing for several hours Tuesday from her Santa Rosa home was found safe Tuesday evening, according to police.

Just before 7 p.m., Santa Rosa police reported that Estela Garibay had been located and was back safely with her family.

"Thank you to all who helped look for her," police said.

ORIGINAL POST: Santa Rosa police asked for the public's help Tuesday afternoon in locating an at-risk elderly woman who went missing Tuesday morning.

Santa Rosa police say 71-year-old Estela Garibay, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease and dementia, left her Orleans Street home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and has not been seen by her family since.

"When she did not return home, family members looked for her and called SRPD for assistance," police said.

Garibay is described as a 5-foot-7-inch Hispanic woman who has a medium build, gray/brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark blue floral blouse, tan pants and sandals. She speaks only Spanish, police said.

Anyone who sees her is asked to call SRPD at 707 528-5222.
