Arts Guild of Sonoma - First Friday Opening Reception

The Arts Guild of Sonoma (AGS) is excited to present the artwork of featured artist Sandy Young
as well as new work by Guild member artists. The exhibition runs from August 1 to August 27 at the AGS gallery on 140 East Napa Street in Sonoma. The public is invited to the Opening Reception on Friday August 3 from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Sandy Young is a mixed media artist who’s work combines kiln-formed glass with mixed media painting and photography. “My work concerns itself with the multidimensionality of individual life experience”, states Young.
“I use overlaying images, handwriting, marks and forms to symbolically represent tracings of internal experience”. Through a layering process and varying of transparencies, Sandy obscures and reveals image fragments that are meant to reference what she describes as “the arena where time compresses and expands, and where ideas, emotions and memories appear and disappear.”
