Designed exclusively for parents of all ages, this one-‐‑day program includes meditation instruction, talks on the Shambhala Buddhist teachings with an emphasis on parenting issues, group discussions, and a celebratory reception. The directors, Shastri Charlene Leung and Robert Pressnall, are parents and senior Shambhala meditation instructors. Shambhala Training Level I participants are introduced to basic human goodness through the practice of mindfulness-‐‑awareness meditation. This simple yet profound meditation technique can benefit anyone from any background and is appropriate for beginning and experienced meditators. Tuition is $100, $75 (full-‐‑time students), and $25 (repeating students). Scholarships are available.
We are not providing childcare, but it is hoped that parents of younger children would only need to find a baby sitter for the one day and could attend together so that each would benefit.
For more information, to reserve your space for the program, or to request a scholarship, please visit www.sonoma.shambhala.org (click on “Programs” then “Shambhala Training Level 1 for Parents”), or send a message to Rachel Anderson at satellitepubs1@comcast.net.
