Nathanson Creek Preserve and Parkway Volunteer Workday

invites you to participate in our Nathanson Creek workday!  For the past few years, SEC staff and volunteers have been working in the efforts to enhance the habitat of Nathanson Creek along the Nathanson Creek Preserve. This workday is an opportunity to participate in the continued upkeep and beautification of the Preserve.

“These workdays are important to maintaining the habitat quality of the Nathanson Creek Preserve,” said Cassandra Liu, SEC’s Restoration Project Manager. “Removing non-native invasive weeds reduces the amount of competition faced by these native species, allowing for their growth and development. Native plants are a benefit to local wildlife and provide resiliency to climate change. ”

All ages and skill levels are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers will be getting dirty, so please dress appropriately. Wear sturdy shoes. Bring gloves, a snack and refillable water bottle.

Meet at the Preserve by Sonoma Valley High School. RSVP for groups of five or more is required. Contact Connor at 707-996-0712 x102 or connor@sonomaecologycenter.org to reserve your spot.

This project is funded in part by the California Department of Conservation and Proposition 50.
