Join friends and family for this free docent led hour and a half hike through redwood groves, along creeks and across meadows will delight nature lovers and hikers alike. At twilight, wildlife enthusiasts may experience sightings of deer, jackrabbits and coyote foraging for food.
Hikers are asked to meet at 5:15pm in the upper parking lot for a 5:30pm departure. The hike to the 1,000-year-old "Grandmother" tree will culminate with a bring-your-own-picnic at the picnic tables near the upper parking lot. Please park only in the upper parking lot as the lower lot gate closes at 5pm. Vehicle parking fees in our state parks range from $6-$8. The free docent-led hikes are co-sponsored by the California State Parks and the Valley of the Moon Natural History Association.
