Morton's Warm Springs: Still The Sonoma Valley Place To Be (PICS)
The swimming pools, creek and grounds of Sonoma County's summertime gathering spot were filled to capacity Labor Day weekend.
GLEN ELLEN, CA — Hundreds upon hundreds flocked to Morton's Warm Springs Resort this past Labor Day weekend. It's a place to swim, picnic and just have fun in the heart of Sonoma Valley Wine Country, so where else would Sonomans be?
With three swimming pools — and a creek!— there are plenty of options for chilling in the water.
As you can see in the above gallery by local North Bay photographer Al Francis, the place was packed to capacity over Labor Day weekend. Check out the pics to see if you, your family or your friends made it into the gallery!

Fun Facts: Although the property's geothermal springs have been attracting visitors since the 1880s, it was the Morton family who built the existing pool house and pool structures in the 1950s and established the resort as a popular summertime destination. For thousands of years prior, the warm springs served as a ceremonial gathering place for the Wappo, Southern Pomo and Coast Miwok Native American tribes.
