Motorcyclist Killed After Collision Near Hwy 121
The 49-year-old died at Queen of Valley Medical Center.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – A motorcycle collision Saturday afternoon in unincorporated Sonoma County killed a Santa Rosa man, officials with the California Highway Patrol said.
The collision was first reported at 4:16 p.m. at Burndale Road and state Highway 121.
The motorcyclist, identified as 49-year-old Royce Waltrip, was driving north on Highway 121 at about 40 to 45 mph behind a 2005 Toyota when traffic stopped suddenly, CHP officials said.

As Waltrip tried to stop, he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with the back end of the Toyota.
Waltrip was taken to Queen of Valley Medical Center where he died, according to CHP officials.

Alcohol does not appear to have played a part in the collision.
